The White House in Malawi: There’s no place like home for the Holidays:

No matter how far away you are. This song could not apply more except we were away from half our family for the holidays. We left Pablo with the McDonalds and Christy Herbst while we were gone. It was great to be home in the States with our families and the Doleys, but we missed Pablo immensely while we were gone. (and Christy Herbst, and the Squares, and Grace & our ABC family) Being home solidified how much people keep up with what we are a part of in Malawi. We are eternally grateful for all the physical, emotional and spiritual support we received while visiting home. We were able to travel to Edmond, Oklahoma to visit Jeff’s brother Brad and his wife April with Avery and Hayden (or Mr. Fats as they nickname him). When we left for Malawi Avery was only 3 months old and Hayden wasn’t even thought of yet! We were able to see Gage who was born only a month after we left for Malawi. The Doley’s kids are now HUGE! Eli was only 5 months old when we left and Noah was 3 yrs old. All the kids at church have grown too much as well. I know we have only been in Malawi for 18 months, but that seems like decades when you see how much little kids grow in that time period.

While we were home the Woods held a baby shower for us for Pablo. We were showered and bombarded with so much support and items we couldn’t bring all of them back this time around. We will have Josh bring the rest when he comes in late February.
